How it all started:

Designing Women was an idea which first began with the March 2001 issue of DT&G Magazine. Being "Working Women's" month, a discussion followed in the "Designers' CAFE" about what was happening, and who was in the field, etc. In celebration of "Working Women's" month, women subscribers were invited to submit samples of their work, and up to a dozen designers, illustrators, desktop publishers, photographers or web designers would be given a complimentary FOLIO site under the Graphic Design Network. |

Needless to say we had lots of submissions. The participants on the front page are the first three to be welcomed into the program. There are six others who have been selected, and are working on their folios. We'll add new names as they're ready for opening. __ We are continuing the program, so if you're a woman working in design, publishing, photography, illustration, graphics, or other visual communications fields, we invite you to contact us at the Graphic Design Network. We'll be happy to send out all the details to get you started. |
